Cena di Interspecies is…
A living museum. An experimental art project. A temporary performance inside the Ecomuseum. An exploration of what it means to be in community, that includes people, land and animals from here.
Partnering with the Val Taleggio Ecomuseo, we re-imagined the local ecomuseum (and bus stop) into a hub of community activity. Over the course of three days, we created a living gallery with 30+ visitors, who participated in programs and interactive exhibitions.
We wanted to break down the traditional barrier between NAHR residents and the Sottochiesa community. Historically, we observed that residents made creative work about Sottochiesa and the Taleggio Valley, but not with the people who live there. These presentations were often inaccessible to community members, despite their curiosity in local culture and NAHR’s large presence in the Town.
As a result, we designed our project to reverse this dynamic between NAHR and Sottochiesa. We created a series of posters, exhibition pamphlets and signs to make our work accessible and encourage locals to participate in programs. These materials helped us bridge the language gap and explain the idea of an "interspecies dinner party."
